Supply in cases of increased demand for thioctic acid (e.g., during intense physical labor).
Leigh syndrome (subacute necrotizing encephalomyelopathy).
Toxicity (caused by streptomycin and kanamycin).
Occupational noise-induced sensorineural hearing loss.
If no improvement is observed after approximately one month of administration, continuous use is not recommended.
Dosage and Administration
The standard adult dosage is 10–25 mg of thioctic acid, administered once daily via intravenous injection.
However, the dosage may be adjusted appropriately according to age and symptoms.
